Motivation and Accountability - Philosophy

Well you knew it was coming. Exercising, dieting, weight loss and wellness management!

These respective programs are often short lived and while the reasons for their 95% failure rate may vary, the fact of the matter is failure is still failure.

Those who have the desire and commitment to workout and eat healthy and be proactive with their wellness on a regular basis are ultimately more successful at obtaining their goals.

While treating wellness, eating smart and working out is always the goal, many either lack the motivation, time or desire to begin a program, let alone maintain one.

Wellness accountability is for those who want to have success in wellness, weight management or a lifestyle change.

While other programs may include food, online access, or a physical gym location, they often neglect to remember that individual success is often associated with the support aspects of the program; most notably how that program can inspire, motivate and hold people accountable.

We believe that each person desiring wellness should have a goal that is long term focused and works toward lifestyle incorporation, which simply stated is the ability to learn how to eat healthy and increase activity without having to think about the fact that you are doing so. By learning to be healthy, wellness becomes a bi-product of such behavior (Train the Brain/Train the Why).


Success is Results
Pick Your Goals; Results

It’s time to start picking your goals, or the results you want. Your life starts and exists right now. It does not start at the completion of any goal. One of the problems with goals is that all too often we put our lives on hold in order to accomplish our goals.

We say we will start living when we complete our goals. I don’t have time to exercise these days, but when I get X done, I will start. Once we get in the habit of not doing things in our lives that we need to do, guess what? We learn to stay out of balance in life.

    Happiness is always a destination as we chase our goals.  The goals keep moving forward. As we accomplish one, there’s the next one--that’s when we will start to live.  We are always waiting to live.

    Today, we start to live right now. We live in the today and we achieve happiness today and every day. We become happy because we start to figure out what we want and we begin to go into action to achieve it. When we are in action, we can visualize our goals becoming true, and those actions of today make us happy today.

    The reason for the information on success is that I don’t want you to become singularly focused. I want you to have your life in perspective and make goals that are balanced in mind, body and spirit.

   I’m also going to change the way you think about goals altogether. Basically, I'm saying there’s only one goal what you can do in the day!  That’s the only thing in life you can accomplish, so that’s the only goal you can have.

    Yes, I know you have always thought about long, medium, and short term goals. I understand you thought you were supposed to make all these goals, and it has been hard for you to figure it all out. So I just made it really simple: There are no such things as goals other than what you can get done today. Does that take some pressure off you?  Do you feel like you have a little breathing room?

    If there are no goals, then what are there? There are results from the accumulation of what you get done in the day. The real question is what results do you want and what are you going to do day-to-day to achieve those result?

You will write down the results you want to achieve in three months. You will find it quite interesting to write down the results you would like to make happen in your life in the next three months.

Life is like a sailboat at sea. For most, life goes wherever the prevailing winds blow because most don’t know where they want to go.  Where you end up is by chance, and you may not end up anywhere. The winds might keep shifting around, endlessly blowing you about at sea.

    The only way to get somewhere is to pick a destination and set course. It doesn’t mean the winds will always be with you. You will have to learn how to tack (a sailing term for taking a zigzag course to get to where you want).          

It also doesn’t mean you will avoid every storm, but you will do your best to stay on course.

    Many people take no responsibility for determining what they want. It’s as though they expect the answers to their lives to just come to them. They think they will arrive at the destination of their desires without charting a course where they want their life to end up in. Life will somehow just happen for them. Then when nothing gets done and they get nowhere, they wonder why.
  
    I can tell you why! They don’t clarify the destination they want.  Life will not just happen for you; you have to make it happen. The great thing is that it doesn’t have to be this terrible adventure and task. In fact, when you know where you want to go and how to get there the trip of life is fantastic every day.

    Let’s not be a lost or floundering around. Let’s pick the goals you want and stay on course to get there! 

I am going to ask you some questions about where you are right now with your health and wellness, your money, and your life so that you can get to know you a little better, so that you can understand what you are actually trying to accomplish.  Let’s Evaluate


Goals and Effort

It is in vain to be ready for your goals to be met if you have none or do not strive to meet them when you do have them.

You have to put the effort in to get results:

1. If you want to lose weight
2. If you want to get in shape
3. If you want to improve your health
4. If you want to improve your relationships
5. If you want to make more money
6.  If you want to improve your life

All too often, we expect and want things for our lives, and we really don’t believe our expectations, nor are we putting in the effort. We still expect that someone else can give us the answer to our lives.

We expect that there must be a way to lose weight, get in shape, improve health, fix or find a relationship, have more money or improve our life that requires no effort.

You have the power to make your expectations turn into reality. You need to conceive, believe, plan, put the effort in and then achieve.

Close your eyes each time and imagine what your life will look like if you put effort in? Don’t expect things in your life to change if you don’t put in the effort.

Three Month Target

What we will do is start with a simple target of three months in different categories of your life. I will ask you what results you want to achieve in the next three months. I want you to ask yourself if you can conceive and believe in those results happening.  If you can, then you can make them happen.

   Now I will ask you questions about many areas of your life.  Now, the great thing about working in the three-month time line is that it doesn’t require you to have life-changing answers.  In career, an answer may be only to be enthusiastic, positive and in a better place to make longer life-changing decisions.
